About Me

Home / About Me

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to check out my website. If you’ve come this far, you’re obviously serious about learning to drive, and probably appreciate how difficult it is to find a decent Instructor who is reliable, patient and can adapt to different learning styles.

I originally started my Instructor training in 2006, after completing a degree in Product Design (BA Hons) at the University of Lincoln.  I qualified as an Instructor in 2007 with high scores across all three of the ADI Tests.  Working as an Independant Driving Instructor for around 5 years, in 2012 I decided to accept an offer of full-time employment at a Lincoln based Sportswear Manufacturer where I finally put my degree to good use.  This new job offered no spare time to continue Instructing so I decided to call it a day and move my career forward in a new direction.

Ten years passed, in this time, my wife and I raised our young family. We have two teenage Daughters, and a young Son, so life at home is very busy, but so enjoyable and fulfilling.  As my eldest Daughter approached 17, I started looking for Driving Instructors and was met with the challenges many of you will be facing, Driving Instructor availability!  With 2 year waiting lists been quoted by some local schools, I decided to look at Instructing again, this is when I called Glyn at UDrive…. and the rest is history.  Having had such a long period of time away from Instructing, I have had to fully re-train, I am now a firm believer that every Driving Instructor should go through the training process twice, you learn so much more the second time around as you can better relate to scenarios and challenges.

Away from work, we have a busy home life, there’s always something going on to get us out and about at the weekend.  I’m also a keen Judoka (one who participates in Judo), having started lessons at my local club over 30 years ago.  In this time, I have competed to a high level and achieved my 2nd Dan Black Belt and now contribute to the weekly running and Coaching at the Club.

I’m excited to move into the next chapter of my life as a Driving Instructor, please get in touch with the great Team at UDrive, and I will hopefully see you soon.
